Licurgo de Almeida is presently an associate lead data scientist at Wayfair.

In myFigure01-Ws research, I use computational models of the olfactory bulb and piriform cortex to investigate how neuromodulators like acetylcholine and noradrenaline affect odor representation in these areas.  In these projects, I study how the effects of neuromodulators in individual neural groups, such as increase in excitability or reduction in synaptic plasticity, affect the behavior of larger networks. Previously, my work was concerned with the codification of grid cells in the MEC and the possible impact of gamma oscillations on the formation of place cells in the dentate gyrus and CA3.
